My site gets at least a dozen new urls a day plus the 2,000 it already has, so multiple stumbles are common on a daily basis.

Another thing I noticed is when I haven't stumbled in a while, that is reviewing stubmles and try and catch up, I do see items from my site that was stumbled a week or two earlier, so I don't know if there is a catch up of stumbles for each member?!?

Hey Matt,

This definitely calls for some experimentation to determine how the second wave can be initiated (with little effort I might add), and if in fact a third wave can be instigated (though it may not be worthwhile). Thanks for the post. I love posts that get me thinking like this!

Thanks for the comment Jeff, I think you have hit the nail on the head with the thumbs up. I would put it down to two factors, first being the quality of the first stumble. If the first stumble is made by a respected stumbler, one that has a good amount of regular fans that visit his/her pages then hits can be made this way.

The second would obviously be if another "respected" stumbler gave you the thumbs up some time after. This will almost certainly happen if you follow the first point.

Good post Matt ... and so true. We've noted the second wave too on occasion (not sure of the %). What do you attribute the second wave to ... a resurgence in thumbs up?
